Demorest's Illustrated

Demorest's illustrated monthly was an American magazine founded by William Jennings Demorest (1822-1895) in New York City. It was innovative as it contained coloured prints, considered by the New York Times to be "worth the price of the magazine" and contained images, poems, music and words.

It was published quarterly and was originally centred around fashion until 1879 when it changed its name to Demorest Family Magazine and broadened its subject matter.
